About me: The Menopause PT. Welcome to the wild ride!

midlife women strength training for menopause support

I’ve been a personal trainer for 12 years…but in that time, I moved to Australia, had two children and lost myself a little.

Being a ‘geriatric’ mum (can you believe they still use that term?) meant that I went straight from the survival years with two small children into perimenopause.

I was not prepared. And I’m not the only one.

Why is menopause not talked about more? We are all going to go through it yet it only becomes a conversation when it starts happening. And thats too late.

Why I created The Menopause PT

We’re the generation that was sold the dream: We could (and should) have it all.

The family. The career. The thriving social life. The daily workouts. The glowing skin. The picture perfect house. The personal growth.

A magical life. In control. Balanced. Beautiful.

It’s bullshit.

Sure, in theory we can do it all (we’re superstars, after all).

But in reality? Trying to do it all is wearing us out.

It’s slowly destroying us, erasing us, making us feel tired, disconnected, and invisible. There is just so. much. pressure.

We’re having babies later.

We’re trying to get back on the career ladder while knee-deep in nappies and sleepless nights. We’re battling to get our “bodies back.” We’re fighting the signs of ageing — because god forbid we let the exhaustion show.

And just as we start to emerge from the trenches, just as we catch a glimpse of ourselves again…

BAM. Perimenopause.

And the wheels come off.

Welcome to the Wild Ride: Hot flushes, brain fog, night sweats, RAGE, dry vaginas, crashing hormones

FUN. Meanwhile, life doesn’t slow down. Kids are older — and not exactly easier. Parents are ageing and need more care. Careers demand more…we start worrying about Supers, savings, mortgages. Relationships still need energy and love.

And who takes on most of this?

Women. Us.

The Mental Load Is Real (and invisible).

And the worst part? Even now, menopause is still taboo. Say the word outside of your 40-something female circle and watch the awkwardness settle in.

And on top of all this, we’re still being told that if we’re struggling, it must be our fault.

We’re doing something wrong. Not trying hard enough. Making excuses.

But I want you to hear this:

It’s NOT your fault.

If you’re struggling, it’s OK.

You are not alone.

I’m not here to judge. I’m not here to add guilt or tell you to “just do this one thing.”

Yes — exercise and healthy food can help (and they really, really can).

But I’ll never ask you to force changes that don’t work for you. This isn’t about fitting into a box.

Let’s flip the narrative.

What if menopause could work for us? Midlife can be the best years of our lives.

The years we finally understand ourselves. The years we stop apologising.

This is us. This is you.

Your journey. Your way.

If this feels familiar…

If you’ve read this and thought
“that’s me”…

you don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just need somewhere to start.

Live in or near Coogee, NSW? Then come and train with me in person. I’ll support you every step of the way. My sessions are suitable to ALL fitness levels and I promise I make it fun!

Live further afield or want extra support? Don’t worry, I’ve got you! I’ve designed The Hub. A place to find workouts, recipes, tips and advice that will help ease you through your midlife journey. We’re in this together. You’re never alone.
